Mr. Baughman's Monthly Message

January 4th, 2008

Welcome Back and I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year!

Please remember that school resumes on Monday, January 11th. All of our After School Counts tutoring classes for math and reading will resume this first week. However, our After School All Stars will not resume until Monday, January 14th.

Some items to remember as we all head back to school.

  1. Being here every day and on time is extremely important; please keep up the excellent attendance.
  2. Some of our 7th grade parents have decided to enroll in SelectivePrep ISAT tutoring classes. This is a tuition based program and will begin on Wednesday, January 16th. Classes will be held here at Jamieson starting at 3 p.m. There is still a chance for other 7th graders to get involved. Please stop by the office and ask for information or an application.
  3. We are heading into 2 extremely important months. January and February precedes our ISAT testing in March. It is in these two months that our final push for being academically prepared is made. These two months are also some of our coldest of the year. So please make sure your child spends some of the cold winter evenings at home reading and preparing for the ISAT test. Many practice test can be found on the State Board of Education website, www.isbe.net. Just 30 to 45 minutes every night will really help your child be better prepared for the type of questions to be asked. Here at school we will continue to work very hard and demand a lot from your child. Please help us with monitoring their completion of homework.

We all look forward to seeing the students back.

Thank you.
Robert C. Baughman
Principal
