Due to the communities concerns regarding possible cell phone tower emissions, the Jamieson Local School Council would like to provide the Jamieson community with an independent, thrid party, inspection report of the emissions from the cell phone tower completed by Site Safe in the fall of 2010.

A quick summarization of the report finds the Jamieson site is compliant with the FCC rule and regulations. In fact, measurements from surrounding households RF signals (usually due to wireless routers for internet access) is greater than that generated by the cell phone antenna.

This fall Jamieson will begin a tuition based after school care program called “Right At School.” Information regarding this exciting program can be found at www.rightatschool.com or by calling 855-AT SCHOOL. This program will provide an outstanding before and/or after school curriculum based program for your children. All staff are experienced teachers, social workers and college students dedicated to elementary school education. On and off-line training is provided by Right At School’s Training Team, and all educators must pass a certification process before they are allowed into the classroom. Please refer back to this post for updates on how to register online beginning July 18th, 2011.

The Chicago Park District also has various after school programs available to parents. Their afterschool costs $143.00 and  runs the day after labor day till about mid December. Monday – Friday 3-6 p.m. Parents need to transport kids to the park. Registration is on line only and begins Monday, August 15^th , 9 a.m.  The web address is www.chicagoparkdistrict.com go to programs, to River Park, to after school. Parents should visit the  site a few days prior to set up the wish list for when the systems starts accepting registration at 9 a.m. that day.

The Jamieson LSC Organizational meeting will be held on Thursday, July 7th, 2011 at 7 p.m. in the school library.

The LSC will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, June 8th at 7 p.m. in the school library to review and discuss the proposed 2012 school year budget. All are welcome.

Dates for this Year’s LSC Meetings (please note, some dates may change so please refer back periodically). All LSC meetings take place in the school library starting at 7 p.m. Also, the PAC meets the same day as the LSC except that meeting takes place at 9:15 in the morning.
