This year will be full of lots of hard work and some fun.  This year, the students will be taking the ISAT test in March.  There is a lot of new things to learn and old things to review to prepare them.  The students will also have to do well in math and reading in order to pass 3rd grade.  With a lot of hard work and cooperation between myself, the students, and families, we should be successful in 3rd grade.  Along with all of the hard work, we will take some fun fieldtrips and do some fun projects.  I hope we will have a great school year!

Homework - Please check your child's assignment notebook each night for homework.  It is your child's responsibility to write down their homework off of the board each day.  It is also their responsibility to make sure they bring home all worksheets and books needed to complete the homework.  All homework must be turned in the next day.  No exceptions!!!

assignment Notebooks should be checked nightly and signed on page 11-12 over the weekends.  Please check the assignment notebook for notes from me.

Upcoming Field Trips
Friday, May 23rd
Wendella Boat Tour of Lake Michigan, the Chicago River, and Chicago's Great Architecture.

Paper Recycling
Bring in your paper to recycle.  The class that turns in the most bins of paper, will win a pizza party.

Box Tops
Continue collecting and bringing in Box Tops for Education.  We need 200 Box Tops to have recess and freeze pops.

Walk-a-thon
Help the school raise money to improve the library.  Wednesday, May 21st.  $10.00 to participate.  3rd graders will walk to Legion Park and back to the school for a picnic lunch on the playground and free time - it will be a fun day!!!  I'm encouraging all students to participate.
