Here you will find important announcements and daily homework assignments. Please check this page on a regular basis.
Sixth grade is a benchmark grade and therefore it is essential that everyone get off to the right start. Attendance and class participation are key elements for success, so keep this in mind at all times.
Everyone should be familiar with Mr. Baughman's 5 R's:

LOOKING AHEAD: We will be focusing on Walk Two Moons.
Monday, Nov. 5th: No homework...be sure to read independently.
Tuesday, Nov. 6th: Identify all the places that Sal has been to so far in the novel with her grandparents.
Wednesday, Nov. 7th: Complete Reading Challenge if you did not do so in class.
Thursday, Nov. 8th: NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS:
REPORT CARD PICK-UP
Friday, Nov. 9th: 1. Read Chapter 12 in Walk Two Moons and answer questions for Ch. 9-12. 2. Begin working on Vocab Unit #7...it will be due on Wednesday.

LOOKING AHEAD: We will have a bit of a goofy schedule this week...please keep up with your studies.
Monday, Nov. 12th: VETERANS DAY: NO SCHOOL
Tuesday, Nov. 13th: Vocabulary Unit # 7 due tomorrow.
Wednesday, Nov. 14th: Study for Vocab Bee and Pretest.
Thursday, Nov. 15th: 1. Grammar p. 303, Exercise #16. Write out the sentences, and identify the underlined word as first, second or third person singular or plural. (Ex. 1s="First" person singular, 3p="Third" person plural)
2. Study for Vocab test....remember you must score a 90% or better, otherwise you must rewrite the 5x's each for homework over the weekend. 3. Read Ch. 15-16 in Walk Two Moons. 4. Write down 5 things that you are thankful for.
Friday, Nov. 16th: Write an introductory paragraph (5-6 well-developed sentences) about the 2 things you are most thankful for. The paragraph should begin: I am thankful for...

LOOKING AHEAD:
Monday, Nov. 19th: 1. Read Ch. 19-20 in Walk Two Moons. 2. Grammar book p. 305, Exercise 18. Write out sentences #1-5 and underline the demonstrative pronoun and circle the antecedent.
Tuesday, Nov. 20th: No class...field trip to library.
Wednesday, Nov. 21st: Complete the final draft of your "I Am Thankgul for..." essay. Enjoy your Thanksgiving Break!

Monday, Nov. 26th: Complete Lesson 4 vocabulary (19 terms)
Tuesday, Nov. 27th: Summarize first 3 sections of Ch. 2 Lesson 4. You should answer the board questions for the section "The Hebrews".
Wednesday, Nov. 28th: Complete summary of Lesson 4, if not done in class. Begin reviewing for Friday's quiz.
Thursday, Nov. 29th: 1. Workbook p. 12. 2. Study for Lesson 4 Quiz
Friday, Nov. 30th:Complete Study Guide and begin reviewing for Ch. 2 test...it will be on Tuesday.

There are several students who still need to submit their school fee...please get this turned in as soon as possible.
Parents please be sure to send a note with your child when they return to school from an absence. Nine unexcused absences for the year will result in mandatory summer school!!
