Who is J.E.F.F.?

Jamieson Education Family and Friends or J.E.F.F., is a federally tax-exempt, not for profit grassroots organization, founded by parents and teachers who want to helpJamieson School provide the best possible educational experiences possible for Jamieson’s children. J.E.F.F. was founded in 2003, and to date has donated over $100,000 in capital improvements to Jamieson School. During the 2007-2008 school years, J.E.F.F. funded a complete remodeling of the school library, as well as purchasing 30 new laptops and a charging cart, which is available for use throughout the building. All donations to J.E.F.F. are tax-deductible.

What does J.E.F.F. do?

J.E.F.F’s primary job is to raise money for special projects for Jamieson. There are many needs at Jamieson-for additional classroom supplies, library books, and better computers. Each year we work with Jamieson School, staff, teachers and Local School Council to identify special needs that we can fill. We have put supplies directly into classrooms, put library books on shelves, and helped teachers with “wishlist” items. We raise money by hosting fundraising events throughout the school year, assisted by parent volunteers and staff. We have also partnered with the Chicago Board of Education on several capital improvement projects in the past 5 years-new auditorium seats, the installation of new lockers throughout the building and our library project, which was completed in September of 2008. New this year-MINNIE MARS MONEY-a MANNA giftcard program which benefits Jamieson School. Buy our cards, and a portion of the proceeds goes back to JEFF. Watch for flyers to come home in your child’s backpack with information on how to participate. Click this link to access the order form and print it out from your computer.

How can you help?

In order for J.E.F.F. to be effective, we need the help of parents and family members. Parents and families are asked to give time and support. We ask you to consider whether you have time to volunteer for special fundraising events and whether you have special skills that can help us be more effective.

I want to help. What do I do?

Please fill out the Parent/Family Form to tell us about how you would like to help. We are happy to hear from any family members who are willing to help. These forms are available in the office.

Thank you,

Mary K Regula
