Jamieson Students Are Achievers
At Jamieson Elementary we know that today's students are the leaders of tomorrow. With that end in mind we try to give our student population a wide range of activities where they can achieve success.
Our student population excels in Academic Achievement. Jamieson students consistently rank in the top 10 percent of all Chicago public schools, and in the top quarter of all schools in Illinois based on our reading and math assessment tests. We invite you to check out our school profile and see how Jamieson stacks up.
Unlike many other high achieving Chicago Public Schools, Jamieson does not have an entrance exam - we are strictly a neighborhood school. Our high level of achievement speaks volumes about the efforts of our administration, teachers and parents.
These are just some of the great things happening at Jamieson:
Jamieson's Academic Bowl has won over eight regional titles and three city championships within the last few years.
Our History Fair and Science Fair participants consistently earn top awards at the regional and city level, while also garnering statewide accolades and awards.
Jamieson's Robotics Club has taken top honors at the city competition, achieving Gold medals in its first year of existence.
Jamieson students have also demonstrated their writing ability by winning Regional honors in the city's Young Authors Writing Contest.
Yet, Jamieson is much more than just academics. Our students also excel in our sports programs. Jamieson consistently leads our region in Football, Basketball, Softball, Track, and Volleyball. Within the last 5 years Jamieson has won over 15 regional championships We've also won multiple city championships in Boy's Softball, as well as in 5-6th Grade Flag Football.
If you live within our attendance boundaries while considering a private or selective enrollment school, we invite you to also come out and visit our classrooms, speak to our teachers, meet our administration and just get a feeling for our school. Students, school starts bright and early on September 4th. You need to be in your "old" classroom lines by 8:55A.M.
