Dear Parents,
The Jamieson Local School Council, a voluntary group, which meets monthly with the principal and helps set priorities for school improvement and budget, now has three vacancies open for the 2009-2010 school year. Two parent positions (must have a child currently attending Jamieson) and one community member (Lives within the Jamieson boundaries, and does not have a child attending Jamieson).
Since this is a non election year, the process to fill these vacancies is as follows:
- Interested applicant must pick-up an application at the main office, complete the application and turn it in to one of the administrators no later than June 30th, 2009.
- All applications will be reviewed by the LSC.
- At the LSC’s annual meeting, to be held at Jamieson on Thursday, July 9th at 7 p.m. in the school Library, all candidates will have the opportunity to briefly discuss their interest and qualifications for the positions. At that meeting the LSC, will go into closed session to vote on applicants to fill all vacant positions.
- Newly elected members will stay to be a part of the first meeting.
- There is mandated LSC training that the applicants must attend once they are elected/voted into office. Failure to meet all training requirements will result in removal from the LSC.
