    New Year News

    Parents, students, and community members;

    As January quickly rolls by we will be entering one of our busiest periods of the school year. I’d like to remind everyone of some very important dates and events and continue ask for your support at home with your kids in helping us have a very successful late winter and early spring here at Jamieson.

    ACCESS testing: We are completing our state mandated testing for all students in our bilingual program this week and early next week.

    The end of the second quarter is Friday, January 29th. There will be no school for students on that day so teachers can complete some professional development training and work on preparing the students’ report cards.

    Report Cards will be sent home on Wednesday, February 3rd.  Parents, if you owe $20 or more on your child’s  lunch balance your child will not be brining home their report cards until some effort has been made to pay your balance.

    Our Jamieson School Spelling Bee will be held on Friday, February 5th.  There will be a Primary (K-2: 9:15 – 10:20), Intermediate (3-5: 10:20 – 11:40), and Upper grade (6-8: 1:00 – 2:10) competition.  I hope some of you will be able to join us.

    The month of February has a few days of no school for the students and I want to be sure that you are informed. Thursday, February 11th is our staff professional development day. Friday, February 12th is Lincoln’s Birthday and Monday, February 15th is President’s Day. There will be no classes for students on any of those days.

    Please remember that the state mandated ISAT test is scheduled to begin the first week of March. Teacher and students have been preparing all year to be ready to perform at their best and the next two months are extremely important in that preparation. Please be sure your child continues to complete all their homework assignments and attends school daily. These two areas of support will greatly benefit the kids and help out the teachers.

    LSC elections will be this spring, there is information on the parent information board outside the main auditorium if you are interested or have any questions.

    I appreciate all your continued support.

    R. Baughman- Principal
