GOOD LUCK to our students who will participate in the city-wide Battle of the Books competition on Saturday.

Due to today's weather forecast, girls' soccer will not practice at the park this afternoon.  Girls wil have a short meeting in Rm. 208 after school today.

All 7th grade students interested
in being on Color Guard or Crossing Guard should sign up in Rm. 101 today. The group will practice during the rest of the year and will present at end-of-year ceremonies.

Anyone in spring sports shoud get their grades checked today after school in Rm. 101.

Students who have been accepted into Lakeview High School are to go to Lakeview for registration on Thursday, April 17 from 8:30-2:30.

ISAT makeups will continue today in the school library.  Library classes will be held in the classrooms.

There will be a meeting to sign-up for spring sports at 8:15 AM in Rm. 101 on Thursday.  These sports will include boys' volleyball, boys' 16"softball, girls' soccer, and boys' and girls' track.  Anyone who is interested should meet in the auditorium until told to go to Rm. 101.

Congratulations to all our Basketball teams for reaching the playoffs in both 5th-6th and 7th-8th grade levels.  
5th-6th grade girls will play today at Jordan and boys will play at Bell. 
7th-8th grade girls will play tomorrow against Disney here at Jamieson and boys will play at Ravenswood.

Candy money is due today.  Please make certain the money is turned in by check or money order made payable to Jamieson School.
Your help is greatly apreciated.

The 6th-8th Parent Community meeting is scheduled for tomorrow,  Feb. 27 at 7:00 PM.  There are teacher incentives for those children whose parents attend.  In addition, there will be an Administrator sponsored pizza party for the class with the highest parent attendance.
Please join us for an interesting and informative evening.

Please remember  ISAT testing will begin next Tuesday, March 4.  Tests will begin promptly at 9:05 so all students must be in school on time.

8th Grade students:  If you were accepted into a selective enrollment high school you must bring your acceptance letter to Mrs. Fager so she may place you before March 7.

Parents of students in Grs. 6-8 are invited to a meeting on Wed., Feb. 27 at 7:00 pm.  There will be incentives for the students whose parents attend the meeting.

Teachers: The Faculty meeting will be held on Wed. AM at 8:30--not on Tues. morning.

Teachers in Grs. K-6 please turn the student Great America sheets and teacher tally sheet in today.  Please send it to 214 or put in Mrs. Corr's mailbox.

Acceptance letters to CPS high school are being sent out Friday, Feb. 22. 
Please make sure to let Mrs. Fager know which letters you received and the final choice of high school for mext year. Please pay attention to the deadline for acceptance.

Tuesday, Jan. 15th, will be the final pick-up for the boxtop race car game.  Remember-- the top three homerooms that bring in the most boxtops win a pizza party for the class.  There will be more boxtop contests coming up. Keep collecting!

Drama Club will meet today after school from 2:45-3:45.  It is necessary for students to attend and pick up a script for the next play.  Tryouts will be after school on Wed.

7th Grade ISAT Prep offered by Selective Prep begins Wed. 1/16.  There is still time to enroll. Stop by the office for a form.

5th and 6th Gr. Boys' Basketball Tryouts
will be held Tuesday morning at 7:30 AM in the gym.

Any 6th-8th grade students wishing to buy a lock for their locker should  bring  an envelope with $6.00 and their first and last names, Room number, and locker number to the office. Students are only allowed to use school -purchased locks on the school lockers.

An 8th Gr. student at Jamieson is collecting new or slightly used sweaters, coats, hats or gloves, and school supplies for a small, needy community in the Ukraine and local homeless shelters.  If you are able to contribute any of the above, your help would be greatly appreciated.  Items will be collected at Jamieson from 11/26 to 12/7.

SCHOOL ON TIME TO BE READY TO START TESTING AT 9:05.

IT IS IMPORTANT STUDENTS ARE PRESENT DURING THIS WEEK TO TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF THE TESTING ENVIRONMENT.

STUDENTS SHOULD GET TO BED EARLY SO THEY ARE RESTED AND SHOULD HAVE A GOOD BREAKFAST BEFORE COMING TO SCHOOL.

ON WEDNESDAY, FEB. 27 JAMIESON SCHOOL IN COOPERATION WITH THE CHICAGO POLICE DEPARTMENT WILL HOST A PARENT INFORMATIONAL MEETING FOR PARENTS OF 6TH-8TH GRADERS.  TOPICS WILL INCLUDE SAFETY FOR OLDER CHILDREN AND SAFETY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD, NEW CURFEW RULES, AND OTHER ISSUES OF INTEREST TO PARENTS OF UPPER GRADE STUDENTS.
